Self-confidence can be describe as the individual’s feelings of him/herself based on his/her abilities and skills in a different situation. it passes one’s feelings of doubt, fear, worries, critics of other people and negativity. However, this changes depending on the situation we are currently in or the people we are dealing with or even the past experience we had.

Two Main types of Self-Confidence


  • self-efficacy 
    • This is when we see ourselves (and others similar to ourselves) mastering skills and achieving goals that matter in those skill areas such as schools, offices, etc.
  • self-esteem 
    • This refers directly to whether or not we appreciate and value ourselves and comes up when we are competent in what we do.


Low self-confidence can result in shyness, having communication difficulties, social anxiety and lack of assertiveness.And these can greatly affect ones personality and behavior.

Then, how can we improve our self confidence? There are some powerful ways to improve and enhance our self-confidence.

1. Always think about positive matters so that you can bring our positivity. Stay away from negative thoughts as it diminishes your self-confidence
2. Change the way you act, your posture, eye contact and the way you smile. You also have to practice speaking slowing. This will greatly affact your inner self and make you feel very comfortable.
3. Believe in yourself and never give up. Don’t let yourself be filled with negative thoughts as it will cause you to loose your confidence in all matters.

4. Self-confidence increases when we are prepared in everything, learn more about your field and then you will have knowledge and will gain confidence in what you are doing.
